Representative of Criminals
Yesterday, two things where repeatedly flashed in our so called Indian news channels. One is 80s super star Rajesh kanna’s funeral. Seriously I know nothing about him. Another one is Rashtapathy election. The members of Parliament and legislative assembly are polled their vote to elect our nation’s most superior, the first citizen of our country.
Once I was came across this Blog (indiaassuperpower.blogspot.in)
The list of Indian sitting MP's with criminal record is huge. I was astonished to see that 28 percent of sitting MP's have criminal cases against them.
There are 150 newly elected MPs with criminal cases pending against them. Out of these, there are 73 MPs
having serious charges against them. Here is the high level summary of the new lok sabha:
• Affidavits available for MPs - 533
• MPs with criminal charges - 150 (28.14 %)
• MPs with serious criminal charges - 72 (13.51 %)
• Total criminal cases against MPs - 412
• Total serious IPC sections against MPs – 213

Over 20,000 PCs in India may loss internet access from July,9 - Protect yours
DNSChanger is a malware computer programme that redirects the Internet traffic to fake websites. That may hack your data or insert malwares to your computer.
This virus was created and spread over the internet last year, The FBI, as a part of ‘Operation Ghost Click’, took control of the servers used by cybercriminals. The FBI then replaced the rogue servers with temporary legitimate servers so as not to disrupt the web activities of those infected.
However, these servers were allowed only till July 9, 2012.
According to the data by DNSChanger Working Group (DCWG), there are nearly 300,000 infected systems globally, with a maximum of over 69,500 such system in the U.S.
Italy, with about 26,500 infected systems, is at the second place, followed by India (21,300) and the U.K. (19,589).

The "Higgs" of Higgs boson is well known to refer to Peter Higgs, the British researcher who in 1964 laid much of the conceptual groundwork for the presence of the elusive particle.
What is largely unknown, at least to non-specialists, is that the term "boson" owes its name to the pioneering work of the late Indian physicist, Satyendra Nath Bose.
In 1924, he sent a paper to Albert Einstein describing a statistical model that eventually led to the discovery of what became known as the Bose-Einstein condensate phenomenon.
The paper laid the basis for describing the two fundamental classes of sub-atomic particles - bosons, named after Bose, and fermions, after the Italian physicist Enrico Fermi.
India's contribution ...
India is one the major non-European partner in European Organization for Nuclear research, and become an active participant in construction of Large Hodron collider (LHC) following an agreement between Department of atomic energy and CERN. Over the years Indian labs and institutions contributed Hardwares like Thousands of Super conducting magnets, Precision magnets, positioning system jacks, Several thousand other electronic items and much more.
India is also one of the grid computing hubs where data from collision taking place in the underground tunnel are analysed.
Over 100 Indian scientists and dozens of PhD students are working in various experiments in LHC.

What is this place??
This is LHC,
The Large Hadron Collider, is built underground at CERN, which is in Switzerland, but the LHC is so big that part of it goes underneath France. It is between 50 and 175 metres below the ground.
A garishly lit tunnel ten feet in diameter curves away into the distance, interrupted every few miles by lofty chambers crammed with heavy steel structures, cables, pipes, wires, magnets, tubes, shafts, catwalks, and enigmatic gizmos.
Scientists hope that it will find the Higgs Boson, the only particle predicted to exist by the Standard Model that has not been seen yet. If scientists can find this it will help show that the Standard Model is right and show what the universe is made of.
The LHC starts with hydrogen atoms, and ionizes the atoms' electrons so that protons are left. Protons are parts of atoms with a positive charge. The LHC accelerates these protons through a giant super conducted circular tunnel 17 miles (27 kilometers) long. The protons are moved around the Large Hadron Collider at very high speeds by giant supercooled electromagnets. These magnets have to be very cold to work and they are cooled by a liquid helium. The protons hit one another at close to the speed of light and convert to energy using E=MC2. It then reverses and creates mass.

The Matter of Matters -Post1
Go back a little more than a century to the late 1800s, and look at the field of physics: a mature science, and rather complacent. There were those who believed there wasn’t much more to do than smooth out some rough edges in nature’s plan. There was a sensible order to things, a clockwork universe governed by Newtonian forces, with atoms as the foundation of matter. Atoms were indivisible by definition.
But then strange things started popping up in laboratories: x-rays, gamma rays, a mysterious phenomenon called radioactivity. Physicist J. J. Thomson discovered the electron. Atoms were not indivisible after all, but had constituents. Was it, as Thomson believed, a pudding, with electrons embedded like raisins? No.
In 1911 physicist Ernest Rutherford announced that atoms are mostly empty space, their mass concentrated in a tiny nucleus orbited by electrons.
Physics underwent one revolution after another. Einstein’s special theory of relativity (1905) begat the general theory of relativity (1915), and suddenly even such reliable concepts as absolute space and absolute time had been discarded in favor of a mind-boggling space-time fabric in which two events can never be said to be simultaneous. Matter bends space; space directs how matter moves. Light is both a particle and a wave. Energy and mass are inter- changeable. Reality is probabilistic and not deterministic: Einstein didn’t believe that God plays dice with the universe, but that became the scientific orthodoxy.
By the early 1930s Ernest Lawrence had invented the first circular particle accelerator, or “cyclotron.” It fit in his hand.
We know things today that Einstein, Rutherford, Max Planck, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, and the rest of the great physicists of a century ago couldn’t have imagined. But we’re nowhere near a final theory of physical reality. Molecules are made of atoms; atoms are made of particles called protons, neutrons, and electrons; protons and neutrons are made of odd things called quarks and gluons—but already we’re into a fuzzy zone. Are quarks fundamental particles, or made of something smaller yet? .......

El Niño is when the sea water temperature rises in surface waters of the tropical Pacific Ocean. Every two to five years the Pacific Ocean has an event called El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO).It lasts for only a few weeks to a month or more. Every three to seven years, an El Niño event may last for many months. This can change the weather and have important effects on economies around the world. Australia and Southeast Asia can have drought but the deserts of Peru have very heavy rainfall. East Africa can have both. In a La Nina event the weather patterns are reversed.

Even the signs for el-nino is there, Mon’soon’ getting ‘late’, Low pressure region is occurred in north pacific, and hot stream is flowing from west pacific, Indian ocean to pacific ocean region. It may cause drought threat to India, Indonesia, Australia and Peru.
The June-September monsoon, vital for agricultural output and economic growth, irrigates around 60 percent of farms in India, the world's second-biggest producer of rice, wheat, sugar and cotton. Agriculture accounts for about 15 percent of India's nearly $2 trillion economy, Asia's third biggest.
How ever, "Rains could be normal this year due to the absence of any strong signal that could inhibit occurrence of a healthy monsoon," L S Rathore, director-general of the state-run India Meteorological Department (IMD), told in an interview.
A monsoon with average rains would boost grains output, helping Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's coalition government keep inflation under check and boosting the faltering economy.
India's economy grew by 6.1 per cent in the December quarter, its slowest in almost three years. To accelerate that, the central bank on Tuesday cut interest rates for the first time since 2009.

THE EVOLUTION OF MOTORCYCLE SAFETY [INFOGRAPHIC]
The early 1960s may have been the decade when motorcycling officially became the world’s coolest mode of transport – thanks to the smouldering likes of Steve McQueen and James Dean – but it was also the era when deaths on the road peaked, with over 1,500 bikers a year killed between 1959 and 1962.
Keeping bikers and other road users safe on the roads is a cause most people actively support. Promoting awareness of motorcycle safety and bringing attention on how this can be enhanced collectively play an active role in motorcycle safety communications. INDIAN ARMY DAY SALUTE
Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal) K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from Sir Francis Butcher, the last British commander, in 1948.
Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our country and the people living in it. On this day in 1948 Lieutenant General K. M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief.Army played equally important role as the other freedom fighters in instilling democratization in India.

| Field Marshal Kodandera "Kipper" Madappa Cariappa (28 January 1899 – 15 May 1993) was the first Indian Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army and led the Indian forces on the Western Front during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1947. He is among only two Indian Army officers to hold the highest rank of Field Marshal (the other being Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw). His distinguished military career spanned almost three decades, at the highest point of which, he was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Military in 1949. |
